Re-engagement Programme
Our re-engagement programme is delivered on a one to one basis and is aimed at young people who are struggling to achieve in mainstream educational environments. Surrounded by beautiful Somerset countryside, students take part in a wide range of activities in accordance with their interests and aspirations which may include some of the following:

Equestrian Activities
- Grooming, handling and riding
- Bedding types and maintenance
- Feeding and watering
- Grassland care
- Yard management
- Tack and saddlery
- Equine healthcare and first aid
- Horse care/stable management certificates
Non- Equestrian Activities
- Wildlife projects
- Yard maintenance
- Cooking and life skills
- Art and craft projects
- Guitar lessons and song-writing
- Canoeing
- Fishing (Coarse and sea)
- Mountain biking
- Birds of prey
- Bushcraft and survival skills
- One to one counselling and therapeutic listening
- Careers advice
- Role play and exploration of interpersonal relationships

The therapeutic value of working with horses has been well documented over many years. Some of the benefits reported include:
- Greater confidence and self-esteem
- Reduced anxiety
- Improved personal relationships
- Enhanced self-awareness regarding behaviour and emotional responses
- Feelings of love and acceptance
- Sense of self-discipline and personal responsibility through caring for horses
- Development of trust and respect
Our highly skilled tutors/counsellors deliver our one to one re-engagement programme in a sensitive and supportive manner which enables students to grow as individuals and make positive choices for the future. Many of our students return to full time education or are able to gain employment having previously struggled in mainstream school for many different reasons including: behavioural issues, learning difficulties, anxiety, bullying and a challenging home life. Our clients currently include:

The programme can be accessed as a short term intervention but often students are referred on a one or two days per week basis for a longer period of time in order to build relationships and address the personal issues which are holding them back.
